ZONA is an experimental-and-innovative space, where exploratory activities in the areas of visual culture and symbolic production are pursued and developed. If contemporary art is a meeting with what's different, unknown and unexpected, ZONA makes such meeting possible.
These goals are being achieved through:
1. organizing group exhibitions where the most important and current issues of contemporary art and modern culture are being dealt with;
2. execution of individual projects pursued in collaboration with the established Polish artists as well as the rising stars of the international art scene;
3. supporting and promotion of young artists based in Lodz by providing a competent curatorial supervison and in co-operation with professional art critics;
4. creating a platform for an artistic exchange with important art centers in Poland and abroad.
By guaranteeing a high artistic standard of exhibitions and developing an intensive promotional programme, ZONA aims to become an important place on the local and national art scene, taking part in maintaining and contributing to the cultural heritage of the city of Lodz and the country.
Also, ZONA will be included in European cultural projects within Lodz Art Center.
